Coping with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder!

Coping with PTSD can be fun and relaxing:

One of the coping skills I learned was creating collages in Art Therapy.  It transforms your pain into a positive while releasing your trauma.  First you set your intention.  It is whatever you need that day.  Some days it may be releasing your pain and other days you may need hope to help you get further in your healing journey.  The photos are of my collages one of pain and one of hope.  It really does work.  First step is you clear your mind then you start going through old magazines and randomly rip out pages of the magazine without any thought.  Then when you have enough pages.  You start cutting out the pictures and wording if you like and start to paste them on the paper.  When you are finished look at it and reflect on what it means to you and your trauma or hopes for healing and peace.  It is so relaxing and helps with anxiety, depression and nerviousness because you are focusing on something else.  Give it a try and see what it does for you.
