The death of a child is hard to cope with!

The death of a child is hard to cope with but even more if it could have been prevented with a simple test and a dose of antibiotics.

This book takes you inside a mother's struggle after losing her six year old daughter, due to a physician's incompetency. Her pediatrician ordered a test to rule out a deadly infection.

However, the ER doctor decided he knew best and doesn't follow through with the test. He lies to the parents and tells them the test results were negative. He told them the little girl had the flu. This gave the parents a false feeling of relief as they take her home to recover from the flu.

She gets a fever and ends up dying at home hours after the doctor said she had the flu. If the test would have been done, and was positive, a simple antibiotics could have saved this little girl's life.

As I read this book, I was aware of PTSD symptoms this mother suffered while grieving the loss of her child. This book was well written in a poetry format and it was easy to read. I couldn't put it down. It is a must read if you have lost a child.

I hope someday she finds justice for her daughter. Where she lives there is a law that protects doctors from malpractice so she never was able to have her day in court. She is an advocate to get the laws changed. I hope someday she gets the closure she desperately needs.
